The Nurse Practitioner Association of the District of Columbia (NPADC) was founded in 1971 and represents the interests of all nurse practitioners in the area without regard to specialization. This non-profit organization serves as a forum for networking and lobbying on common concerns, ideas and issues affecting nurse practitioners in today’s health care arena. The organization facilitates communication among its members by presenting regularly scheduled Continuing Education programs on topics pertinent to nurse practitioner practice, representing the members locally and nationally in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and providing legislative alerts. A bi-monthly newsletter is published and sent to member with specifics about meetings, board activities and other areas of interest to today’s nurse practitioner.

The Nurse Practitioner Association of the District of Columbia (NPADC) is an non-profit professional organization of nurse practitioners established in 1971. The purpose is to promote high standards of health care as delivered by nurse practitioners.

NPADC is committed to:

• Improving the organization and delivery of health care services,
• Achieving cost-effectiveness in health care,
• Serving as a vehicle to promote the barrier-free practice of nurse practitioners, and
• Stimulating professional growth
